I am going to a party, I hope you come too...
My 2013 was full of sadness and heartache so I really can't think of 13 of my best memories from this year, so instead of coming up with my own, I am going to use their list.

13. Favorite article of clothing:
My new find this year were Rite Aid shoes. They are so cute, comfy, cheap and come in many colors and textures.

12. Favorite movie you watched:
I really loved the movie Silver Linings Playbook

11. Favorite TV series:
I look forward to this every week!

10. Favorite restaurant:
Just about every Friday night we call in an order for Mexican food at the local Mexican restaurant called Mi Casa. They have the best taco's!

9. Favorite new thing you tried:
A martini called the Fuzzy Pecker! Equal parts vanilla vodka, pineapple juice and peach schnapps.

8. Favorite gift you got:
I got an ice cream maker for my birthday. I only used it a few times but I love it, especially for root beer floats.

7. Favorite thing you pinned:
too many pins for there to be one to be my favorite but I did have success with one of the pins and my attempt to make it.
Here is the pin...
Here are my results...
I turned mine into a two sided pendant I wear on a long chain. I love it!

6. Favorite blog post:
I don't know that I would call it my favorite post because it is about my mom's passing, but it was a meaningful one.

5. Best accomplishment:
My kids.

4. Favorite picture:

I love this picture of my mom. It was taken at her 60th birthday, just one year before she died.

3. Favorite memory:
Right now, any memory that includes my mom. I am afraid of forgetting...

2. Goal for 2014:
To just get through!

1. One Little Word:
MOM

I have to say that I am really glad 2013 is almost over.

  2. I lost my mom and my best friend about 7 years ago. It was a difficult several years to go through without her. You will NEVER forget her because she will forever live in your heart! Many blessings to you in this new year, and I pray you will find comfort as you go through all the "firsts" without her.

  4. Thanks for visiting my blog!!! This is the 4th time I was published. It was in the October/November issue. The idea was called "Rhyme Time" and it was a writing activity about being a turkey during Thanksgiving. I love it when I see my name in print. I think all teachers do.

  5. I found you through Abby at the Inspired Apple...I loved the graphic you use for your name. This post touched my heart. I lost my mom at age 62 also. She had a cancer ...a brain tumor. I was in my 30's with small children at the time. It was very hard. I had friends that didn't like their mom's and they were still alive. I loved my mom and she was gone. I am now in my 60's and have wonderful grown children with children of their own. My daughter lives close by to me and I cherish every minute I share with her. We talk of my mother often even all these years later. Write down the things she taught you and read them often they will bring you great comfort. Maybe we learn to live differently without our mom's but I wish we didn't have to....I believe we will be together again, if I didn't I don't think I could have gotten through it all. I hope I wrote this in the right manor...I want to lift you up not bring you down. Fondly, Barbara Harmor bharmor@hotmail.com If you ever need to talk about her just write me:)
