Thumbs up Thumbs Down Thursday #7

Another Thursday, another Thumbs up Thumbs down post. Read here for the back story of why I started this.

Thumbs up to the Marine that helped the 11 year old boy cross the finish line of the Florida children's triathlon. The boy's prosthetic leg fell off on the final stretch so the Marine helped him finish the race...such a heart warming story! Click {here} to read it.

Thumbs up to my daughter for shaving her head in support of my mom and to bring awareness to young people about this very important topic - Breast Cancer. I don't think I would have been able to shave my head at the age of 18! Also I would like to Thumbs up my mom for being so strong and positive through all of this! I am so lucky to have two such beautifully brave women in my life. Aren't they gorgeous?

Thumbs up to Patti at A Series of Third Grade Events for a fantastic post called Super Saturday YouTube Educational Video of the Week the video she posts is about text-to-self connections. It is super cute and one your students will love. If you haven't seen it yet you should!!

Thumbs up to Mrs. Williamson from the blog Welcome to Room 36! Her post called apples, apples shows off all the great activities her students did while studying apples. If you haven't seen the post yet, you might find some great ideas to add to your apple unit.

Thumbs down to both Obama and Romney. The debate last night was nothing but a couple of playground bullies trying to get the last word. I am so embarrassed for the both of you, next time let the fact checkers tell us who is lying, all you need to do is ANSWER THE QUESTIONS!!

Thumbs down to the person that is always sticking their nose where is doesn't belong! If you know a person like this then you know what I am talking about. Unfortunately for the kids around this person, the "nose" likes to get students in trouble. This particular "nose" likes to label kids and do everything humanly possible to keep these kids "trouble makers". This "nose" just needs to butt out!

Okay...done venting, your turn to share :)

Best,

  1. LOVE, love, LOVE your daughter and your mom . . . what a precious picture! I am so sorry that you're journeying through this difficult time but one thing's sure; your love, support, and obvious JOY for one another will carry you through. Prayers for peace and healing coming your way!
